Coconut oil is very beneficial as a moisturizing agent for pets’ coats. It treats, and hydrates the coat and skin and is safe in case the pet licks itself. Here is a simple recipe for your cat (but good luck holding the cat still to execute it!):
- Bathe the cat first with a mild shampoo (I make my own castile soap based one, or you can try this) and rinse thoroughly.
- Apply coconut oil as a thin layer over the cat’s skin and fur.
- Optional: rinse off after 30 minutes.
