Many of us have found ourselves stuck in patterns that we know are not serving us well. Whether it’s procrastinating on important tasks or avoiding opportunities for growth due to fear of failure or judgment from others, we can become trapped in a cycle that seems impossible to break. However, there is often a hidden benefit to staying stuck, which can hinder our healing journey or getting the result we say we want.
The hidden benefit of staying stuck is that it provides us with a sense of comfort and familiarity. We may feel that we know what to expect in our current situation, even if it’s not ideal. We become accustomed to our patterns and habits, and breaking out of them can feel overwhelming or even scary. Additionally, staying stuck can provide us with a sense of control over our lives, which can be appealing, even if it’s an illusion.
However, staying stuck can also prevent us from healing and achieving the results we desire. When we stay in the same patterns, we continue to experience the same negative outcomes. We may continue to feel stuck, sick, or hidden from the world, despite our desire for change. This can lead to frustration and feelings of hopelessness, as we struggle to understand why we can’t seem to break free.
While we may “say” and “do” all the right things, the energetics and subconscious blocks behind this is what’s really driving the outcomes. This is counterintuitive and not what we’ve been taught, but society actually grooms us to play small by teaching us that we are not powerful. Or maybe deep down we either fear power, or fear that we will abuse power if it’s available to us. This can be due to a narrative we’ve adopted as truth by family agreements or witnessing the historical power struggles where people systematically get hurt.
So we purposefully disconnect from power as part of our defense mechanism. The truth is that we are powerful beyond measure, and unbeknownst to our conscious mind, we are actually always manifesting our reality based on what we believe or expect that we deserve.
To move beyond the hidden benefit of staying stuck, it is important to recognize that our patterns and habits may be holding us back. We must acknowledge the ways in which our current situation is not serving us and be willing to embrace the discomfort and uncertainty of change. This requires a willingness to step out of our comfort zone and try new things, even if they feel unfamiliar or challenging.
It is also important to seek support from others who can help us navigate the process of change. This can include a therapist, coach, or mentor who can provide guidance and accountability as we work towards our goals. By seeking support, we can break out of the cycle of staying stuck and begin to make progress towards healing and achieving our desired results.
There is no “one size fits all” approach when it comes to either healing or generating any kind of desired outcome, so it’s important to select the type of help that speaks to you. If on some level you do not trust or believe it will work for you, the inner subconscious saboteur can once again step in and destroy your chances of success. Choose a coach or method that you can really feel good about. In fact, feeling good about yourself and what you do is another key piece about manifesting the desired outcomes.
By recognizing the ways in which our patterns and habits are holding us back and seeking support from others, we can break free from this cycle and move towards a more fulfilling life. Remember, change may be uncomfortable, but it is necessary for growth and transformation.
