Today I’m focusing on Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia). This well-known herb is a popular choice for dish soap, bath soaks, aromatherapy and has many other household and therapeutic uses.

Antibacterial, antiviral, antidepressant, carminative, nervine

Antispasmodic, soothing to gut – treats dysbiosis, diarrhea, gas, nausea

Aids digestion

‘Stagnant depression” – combine with damiana, holy basil, rosemary (David Winston)

Very strong – fragrant, aromatic – high in essential oils, use sparingly and boil only slightly to preserve volatile substances

Best as aromatherapy – Put plant in pillowcase or dab slightly as diluted essential oil → carry around

Stress headache: make tea and soak washcloth or put 1 drop of essential oil
